Bowling at Pune's 3D Destination Fun | Pune
What you see - Located at Mukundnagar in Pune is a popular hotspot, 3D Destination Fun. A large neon sign leads you in. A bunch of impatient kids and teenagers outside indicates its popularity. Inside, a huge sprawling area is well segregated into a bowling alley, eating area and a gaming zone which is centrally air conditioned though a little dingy looking.
What you get - They have loads of fun activities inside to keep their patrons entertained. There is an entrance charge of Rs. 50 which is like a cover charge for the games.
On the right hand side of 3D Destination Fun is their games section called Kaboom. It has nine video games, 19 redemption games, two novelty games (that are like gift machines) and six kiddie rides including the all time favorites for video game lovers like Down Hill bike, Daytona, Air Hockey, Basketball etc. Nearby, they also have a small dance floor with a silver disco mirror ball on the ceiling that didn’t seem to function anymore. Actually even in games, there are some that don’t operate. Nonetheless, the redemption games that help you win counters (coins) are fun.
3D Destination Fun also has a vegetarian sports café called High Five that serves sandwiches, ragda patties and other dishes which seemed a bit stale when we visited it. Also the food was not covered and that didn’t manage to stir up our appetite.
Their six-lane bowling alley, Pin Blaster seemed to be the most popular here with crowds waiting for their turn. Each game costs Rs. 150 per head. This one is fun for people of all age groups though the mechanical problems seemed to be a hindrance.
Our verdict – 3D Destination Fun is a family entertainment centre in Pune and can be loads of fun for groups in spite of the hitches mentioned above. MetroMela only visited their bowling alley and games section. But they also have a 7,500 square feet gym called Destination and Marigold a multi-cuisine food restaurant at the top. Like we said, the place is fun but needs to work on maintenance and ambience. Pay and Park facility is available in the building.
