What you see - Located on the uptown Bund Garden Road, Le Royce is owned by Bala Hegde. Royce means truly unique - just like the magnificent Rolce Royce, after which the hotel has been named. On a quick tour of this elegant boutique hotel MetroMela realized that red and white seem to be the theme colors here. The design and interiors come across as quite contemporary.
What you get – Le Royce has 30 rooms which are categorized into Suites, Superior Deluxe and Deluxe rooms. Depending upon the category, the amenities and the size of the room differ. These rooms have been designed based on inputs from multiple designers, we are told. Ditto with the uniforms of the staff. That’s why they call themselves a designer hotel.
The suite (Rs. 9,000), the biggest of the lot is done up in a chic shade of maroon. Divided by a separator, it has seating arrangement for casual meetings with an adjacent powder room. A soft and luxurious bed awaits on the other end. For entertainment they have a Plasma television and a cozy corner that looks onto the street. The bathroom is nice as well, equipped with a hairdryer, shaving kit and tub with products from Biotique.
The Superior Deluxe room doesn’t have the separate large sitout. The amenities, however, remain the same. The Deluxe room (Rs. 6,000) is a basic room and smaller but comfy. Instead of a tub, it has shower facilities.
If you are planning to have a party, wedding or a conference they have two plush banquet halls called Alfa and Beta. Designed with a rich maroon and golden carpet, sophisticated wood decor and classic chandeliers adjustable for appropriate lightening the hall spells opulence and class. The halls are well equipped with modern audio visual equipment. This space can be used as a single unit or it can be conveniently partitioned into two independent halls, each with its separate reception desk and food counter.
Le Royce has an inhouse swanky restaurant called Fusion that serves multiple cuisines. So you can taste their delectable Fresh basil pasta, Chicken Ra Ra, Butter Chicken and Rogan Josh while you are here. Cocktails like sapphire martini, mojitos and various refreshing smoothies are available as well.
The hotel also provides transport for short distances. It even suggests places to visit and organizes it for you.
Our verdict – Le Royce’s clientele includes corporates, expatriates and families. Additional services at the hotel include gym, swimming pool (Boat Club), complimentary buffet breakfast, welcome drink and Internet connectivity etc. Multi level automated and valet parking is available too. The hotel is just 5 kilometers away from the airport and 2 kilometers away from the railway station. In addition it is very close to Koregaon Park which has several important business centers, branded malls, entertainment spots etc.
