What you see - Located on Apte Road in Pune is the residence cum hair clinic of Kishore Kawadia where a room of his apartment has been converted into a clinic. The clinic has an aloe vera plant sitting pretty in the window which we later found has major significance in the hair treatments given here.
Dr. Kishore Kawdia is a homeopathy doctor who started his practice over two decades ago. In due course of time he ventured into beauty enhancing treatments. Later he felt the need to specialize only in hair as he felt it was highly neglected and required special care and counseling.
What you get – All hair related problems like premature graying, hair falling, balding, fungal infections, dandruff, brittle hair and alopecia etc are treated here. The treatments are basically nature based ones with more emphasis on counseling and little on medicines.
According to the doctor here, hair related problems usually arise due to anemia, body heat resulting in dry skin, pollution, obesity, stress, depression, hormonal changes, pregnancy, digestive problems, sleeping disorders, lack of right nutrition, thyroid, acidity etc. These problems lead to headaches in the sun, body aches and sluggishness due to which the blood circulation doesn’t happen up to the hair. Therefore, the doctor advises alteration in lifestyle putting emphasis on food habits and intake, yoga and meditation and behavioral changes and most importantly a positive outlook in life – this he insists is because hair problems are mainly 60 per cent internal and 40 per cent external.
He then advises that the patient stop using dye, hair color, mehendi and even shampoos as they are all chemical based. He offers lotions for hair massages and advises the patient to use natural products like natural aloe vera and shikakai for washing the hair. This moistens the hair, cleanses and washes the hair leaving them naturally soft and healthy. Finally, he gives homeopathic medicines if required.
The doctor has treated premature graying of hair for cases under the age of twenty and can also treat early cases of balding. Also he warns his patients from being cheated by misleading advertisements in case of complete baldness as there is no further scope of growth.
The doctor charges Rs. 100 per consultation and Rs. 400 fortnightly for medicines. For cases of premature balding he has a 6 month treatment for Rs. 6,000 that includes the medicines and consultation charges.
Our verdict – In Pune, Dr Kawdia is a name to reckon with and has already been featured in media like Sakal, Radio Mirchi, Sahyadri and Zee Marathi as a consultant for hair related problems. His treatments have no side effects like allergies and reactions and are known to have long lasting results. With word of mouth his treatments have became so popular that his patients are spread all over and include foreigners too. Parking can be a problem in this narrow lane.
