What you see – The easiest way to find Tech Ni Art is to enter the building right next to Sagar Arcade on FC Road, Pune. As you get there you notice the glass door of Tech Ni Art that has a tagline - Art of beauty. The tagline helps you know that it’s a salon which otherwise is difficult to decipher with just the name.
What you get – Tech Ni Art is a hair studio and beauty salon specially designed for a woman’s needs. They have five beauticians and two hair stylists led by their owner Manoj Pandit. A renowned hair designer of Pune for over 20 years, Manoj has an array of beauty courses to his credit. He has also worked for the likes of Nalini and Yasmin and Lakme till he opened his hair studio and beauty salon in 2002.
The salon’s expertise is definitely hair cutting, styling and treatment of hair related problems. In hair cuts we were told that short bangs in front or the messy look is popular. A hair cut from Manoj will cost about Rs. 400 and from others employed here Rs. 300. For hair treatments they have a special package called hair spa (Rs. 600) to pamper your crowning glory. This package includes deep conditioning, a power dose with the help of minerals and a special coating for the hair. This nourishes your hair and retextures your repaired hair to make it soft, silky and smooth. Straightening, ironing etc is done here as well and the cost may vary depending upon the length of the hair.
They have a separate beauty salon, adjacent to the hair studio where facials and body treatments are done. In facials and face cleans they are popular for the anti-tan facial and glow facial. Considering the changing weathers and rash summer heat these facials are considered very effective as they rejuvenate the skin making it softer, fresher and fairer. They also have skin tightening facials for the wrinkled or loose skin. Their royal manicure and pedicure are great to pamper your senses as well. For body treatments they have body scrub, body polishing (Rs. 800) and aroma body massage to choose from.
For brides they have a special bridal package for Rs. 7,000 which includes dressing you up from head to toe. This includes hair conditioning, body treatments, massages, manicures, pedicures, facials etc. The make up is exclusively done by Manoj. Saree draping will cost Rs. 300 extra.
Our verdict – The salon uses an amalgamation of imported products like L’Oreal and Christian Valmy as well as tried and tested herbal products made in the salon itself. We were told that the salon constantly researches about new techniques, styles and products in the market to move with the changing times. They are especially known for their trendy haircuts and have a huge clientele among youngsters considering the long waiting line. They are not too expensive either. Parking is available inside the building.
